Junior Staff in Training Program
Ages: 13-15 Cost: $55 Hours: 9am-3pm
Meeting area: Nike Base Activity Center Days & Dates: Monday-Friday: Week of 7/23-7/27
Create your own game/activity: ½ day project where teens brainstorm new games and/or activities for the kids. Participants will utilize equipment allotted as well as be able to explain rules, equipment needed and which age group the game/activity is geared for. Participants must demonstrate the game/activity.
Day in the life of a staffer: Paired with create your own game/activity day, learn the ropes of being a staff member. Participants will go through the employee handbook, learn about each program offered and the ins and outs of the recreation department. Each participant will receive a Junior Staff shirt.
Field Trip: Included in the registration fee. Participants will enjoy a field trip to participate in during the week.
Team building: Learn how to work together and combine ideas to engage in physical obstacles, relays and team games and compete against the other team.
Job Training: Participants will learn resume building, practice interviews, what to wear to a job interview and how to be a professional in the work place.
Shadow days: Participants choose between 1 program offered by the recreation department and sports craze. They will shadow ½ a day of a program of their choosing that the rec department offers that day & after lunch they will shadow sports craze for the other ½ of the day.
Shadow a field trip: Participants will get to see how field trips are run. They will assist in helping out with the trip as well as get to participate in the field trip. Field Trip costs are included in registration.
Monday: Day in the life of a staffer & Create your own game(s)/activity day
Tuesday: Field Trip to Maid of the Mist/Cave of the winds tour
Wednesday: Shadow Day
Thursday: Job training & Team building exercises
Friday: Shadow Ninja Warrior Gym field trip
